For Star Wars fans who speculate all kinds of storytelling about what Taika Waititi’s next movie will explore, you’re not the only one, Waititi himself recently confirmed to be experimenting with just about any idea he could think of for the project in order to then refine the adventure into something more coherent. Waititi isn’t the first filmmaker to develop an entirely new storyline for this saga, but with previous indie films in the franchise tied into familiar corners of the franchise, he’s instead free to explore just about anything he wants to deliver fans.
When asked before /Movie Should Waititi have to rein in his absurd or ambitious thoughts for the upcoming movie, he asserted, “No, I’m kind of able to bring my tone of voice. Right now, it’s still too early, because… I still haven’t even finished the script. What? I’m still trying to come up with ideas and I’m mostly in that part of the process where it’s still kind of open. And when I write, I kind of write down every idea I’ve ever had and then they start to transfer it to something. But I’m still throwing everything up against the wall for now. “.
Although Waititi and co-writer Kristi Wilson-Kearns are clearly still trying to figure out what they want their film to be, the director has previously shared it, rather than offering surprising connections with known corners of the galaxy far and wide. , you will venture into a more unknown territory.
“Look, I think the Star Wars universe is expanding, it has to expand,” Waititi shared movie total. “I don’t think I’d use anything in the Star Wars universe to make a movie where everyone likes, ‘Okay, these are the blueprints for Millennium FalconAh, this is Chewbacca’s grandmother. Lucasfilm was set by Patty Jenkins Star Wars: Rogue Squadron as the next theatrical release on its schedule, which is still touting a December 2023 release date, although reports have since claimed Waititi could be next on the big screen.
